Deeply saddened.
Neil .... People Person. Such a natural. Smiley face. What will we do? Our Unit 4 + 2 Quiz team is now missing the specialist on TV, soaps and Corrie? Our celebration guest list is now one short. ?
We will never forget you. You were the star turn at my 50th and we were honoured to be invited to your 60th. We will always think of you when we see a moustache. Thank you so much for the many many laughs. X Deepest Sympathy to Glenda X

Jo and Paddy Howlett donated £20 in memory of Neil

We only met Neil a few times, through our daughter Amy who was nurtured at Narborough Hall by Glenda and all the Edwards family while she worked there. These were happy days and Neil shone out straight away as a great character. We immediately clicked and it felt like we had always known him. Neil was such fun and so down to earth, he always made us laugh and was so kind and friendly to us all. Very recently I returned home and Paddy was so excited and happy and said you will never guess who has visited with a gift for Amy's baby Jonah.....it was of course Neil. He was full of life and so happy telling Paddy all about his new family, they had a real heart to heart. That was Neil, someone who brightened the day and touched your heart. The amazing tribute to Neil summed him up so perfectly, such a charismatic man who captured all our hearts with laughter, smiles, and wonderful conversation. I really hope these messages will comfort dear Glenda, who is in all our thoughts at this sad time.

I was so sad to hear the news. Neil was such a happy and caring man who always had a smile on his face. When I was working with Glenda I got to know Neil as well, they were both so kind to me. He was delighted when I became a teacher and told fond stories of his first primary school teacher. I am thinking of Glenda and his family at this difficult time. Xxx Amy or Miss Howlett as Neil always called me! xxxx

Neil...
I'm sure I speak for many but when I heard the news, I just couldn't believe it was true. No not Neil, you've got it wrong ! Until I saw your heartbroken Glenda, I knew it had to be real.
I've known you for 22yrs since I started at Tomorrow's World in Blaby. You certainly shown me the ropes and I would listen with admiration of all your travels and mischievousness tales.
Hey, they were the good old days. The best times I'll always remember them.
We only celebrated your 60th in November in true Neil style...sophication with alcohol, food, a Neil Goodwin fact quiz and a good old boogie. Moustache Airways ✈️
Your a true gentleman, heart of gold, a cracking friend, so much fun and a wonderful husband to Glenda.
I'm so sorry I wont be there tomorrow to say my goodbyes, but I give a little wave up in the sky.
You'll be missed Neil but your memories will live on in all of us.
Lots of love Lianne, Norm, Jenson & Phoebe x

Neil what can I say. I first met you was when I started my career in travel the nervous 16 year old that I was walking into Barton Knott, as soon as I met you I knew I would be perfectly fine you put me at ease straight away taking my under your wing, teaching me the ropes you got me well in the road to where I am today. Everytime I eat a fox's golden crunch biscuit Ill think of you. I have so much to thank you for. Love Louise xx

We were so shocked to hear of the sad news. Neil provided us with so many happy memories of the time we worked together. Always ready with a broad smile and a witty comment, Neil was the ultimate 'Cheeky Chappie' with a heart of gold.

Since we heard the news about Neil, Gill and I have reminisced about the time we spent with Neil and Glenda in Tenerife. It was only a short time but we had lots of laughs and Neil was always involved in the mayhem and mischief! It's quite ironic really that we are sad because Neil wouldn't want us to be sad. So we will celebrate his life instead. Our thoughts are with Glenda. Bernard and Gill.

Neil, You always had a cheeky grin and a huge hug to pass on....we all adored you. One of my most recent memories was when you gave me a lift at a particularly low time. I had not long been made redundant and was feeling pretty miserable and you gave me a wry smile and said "It doesn't seem like it now, but things will work out, everything happens for a reason and as long as you have enough to pay the bills and are happy, take a leap of faith, leave Leicester, move in with your Train-Man (his name for Nigel) and 'Live happily ever after'. Life doesn't always follow the path you thought, but maybe the other path is actually better". We had a cuddle and he went on his way........Exactly a year later Nige & I were flying Jet2 and I bumped into Neil at East Midlands....as he took my ticket stub he gave me a wink and said....."See, Uncle Neil is not as daft as he looks, I knew it would all work out!"
Miss you Neil. Keep smiling darling, sleep tight. X
