SIMON JEREMY SYKES


On June 11, 2016, peacefully in hospital, late of Mirfield, formerly of Marsden, Simon aged 53 years. Much loved son of Jack, Maureen and the late Mary, dearly loved brother of Ruth and Jane, brother-in-law of Ian and Mark very dear uncle of Doug, Jack, Jasmine and Maverick and a dear nephew of Philip and Pat.

Thank you SO much for the wonderfully warm and apt celebration of Simon's life yesterday in Bradford. It was a privilege to be a part of it. I remember several years ago, in chats with Simon during a break at the EVH in Dewsbury - just in the course of conversations about this and that and the mundane and the funny... mentioning about the intense blueness of his eyes... he replied as his family will well understand... "I've heard that a good few times over the years!" and of course that twinkle in those eyes was always there... and the smile that followed was like sunshine in rain...
