Eileen Margaret Knowles (Passed away 27 Mar 2016)

Fond memories of a lovely funny lady who never judged and was always fair and supportive.

I have many happy memories of my nana ( also known as 'crazy nana') and the crazy things she used to say.Many of her comical outburts were said at the cafe in Chelmsford where she would be dipping her cake in her cup on tea. Many of these included her love for trashy TV such as Harry Hill's TV burp , or the constant asking to me and Adam(whom she also said was David Cameron's look alike) whether we had a boyfriend/girlfriend yet.
Nana's eccentric clothing taste and dramatic/artistic side definitely has rubbed off on me and many of the Christmas presents which at the time i thought were very distasteful are now in fashion. She was ahead of her time! Nana's constant ray of sunshine will be missed , yet not forgotten and she will be partying in heaven to Tom Jones's music in her leopard print clothing.

I have fond memories of my often quirky mother in law, she loved a joke, rude birthday cards, buying awful birthday and Christmas presents to make us laugh and never wrapped anything up ! I will miss her saying "You make the best cup of tea" ! She didn't want for much and I will always remember happy times.

I have so many fond memories of Nana, however one of my favourites is from Halloween a few years ago now. It was already dark and Amy and I wanted to go out trick-or-treating. We decided, however, that we weren't going to give the superficial choice to one lady that lived at the end of the road because we didn't much like her (she used to tell us off for riding our bikes too close to her car). As a result, she got a trick. A rather harmless one, but one that Nana was more than happy to join in with! Together, all three of us secretively crept up the house trying not to be heard or seen. When we got there we rang the doorbell and then ran-off as fast as we could. At the time with the age that I was, this game was one of the funniest things ever, and the hilarity was only perpetuated with Nana running away with us, all of us giggling together as we did so.
