In loving memory of Jane Ann Wood who sadly passed away on 13th March 2016

Jane Ann Lamb was born on 26th November 1957. The eldest daughter of Sylvia and George Lamb, Jane was soon joined by a sister Gill and brother John. As a child Jane was quiet but mischeivious often causing trouble but never being blamed by the adults around her. Jane attended Cobourg Primary school and then Honor Oak school for girls. Jane was a Brownie and a Guide and attended Sunday School where she made many lifelong friends.

Jane first meet Jamie Wood when she was 16 at Bermondsey Gang Show. After one date she soon came to her senses and dumped him. A year later, she decided he wasn't that bad after all and they soon became a couple eventually marrying in 1977.

After leaving school, Jane worked in Broomfields bakers and progressed to mangeress before leaving to have her first daughter Suzanne in 1981. Suzanne was joined by a sister Benita in 1984. After having children, Jane returned to work as a lunchtime supervisor first in London Nautical school and then at Cobourg Primary school, where Jane developed her career as a teaching assistant. Jane worked at Cobourg for 25 years and only left recently to take up a position at Castillion primary. Here Jane was able to fufil a lifetimes ambition by working with a child with Down's Syndrome and was very happy in her role.

Outside of work and home life, Jane was a Cub Scout Leader with 20th Bermondsey Scout Group for 40 years. Having first joined at 18years old, Jane took the role of "Akela" and dedicated much of her time and energy to Scouting up until her passing. Jane passionately believed in the importance of Scouting to the young people she was a leader for and took on many roles including ADC for cubs over the years.

In recent years Jane became a Grandma to her three Grand Dogs Maxie, Winston and Ruby. She loved to "Grand dog sit" and would spoil them with treats and toys.

Jane was a kind, caring and quiet person who loved Star Trek, Meat loaf, silly hats, macaroni cheese, Christmas pudding and spiders. She will be greatly missed by her husband, daughters and their partners, mum, sister and brother and the rest of her family and friends.

WOW, reading all the tributes, I'm reminded of what a wonderful woman Jane was. I know she's in heaven.
Jane and I were best friends all of our lives, from age 4, until she met Jamie and he became her best friend and a new life started for them!
Jane and I went to the same schools; we were brownies and girl guides together and I remember her beautiful wedding so well too. I remember every November 5th, we shared fireworks with Jane's family in her backyard and I can remember many afternoons that we played games in her parlor at Mum's home, with the younger brother and sister wanting to join in!
My sweetest memories are of holidays we took. We went to Cornwall with my family when we were about 12 and fell madly in love with the lifeguard on the beach- as if he'd have looked twice at us! We also went camping together as brownies and guides and Jane was always happy and zany.
I loved Jane and although I have not seen her in many years, we stayed in touch at birthdays and Christmas with cards and update letters. Being the same age, I am shocked to know she passed at such a young age, but I am glad for her that it was fast. I know how much she must be missed by family and close friends now, as I've missed her too, over the years and the distance. Her memory will last forever.
