Our beloved father and grandfather, Gordon Wilson, went walking on Sunday 25th October 2015 and never returned. His journey took him from his home in The Rodings to the lovely village of Sible Hedingham, a place he often visited with his much-loved late wife of 55 years, Sybil. After an extensive search by Essex Police, Essex Search and Rescue, members of the public and his family, Gordon was found on the 23rd January resting under some brambles in a beautiful wood to the south west of the village. A former headmaster and proud Glaswegian, ‘Papa’ will be greatly missed by his much cherished grandchildren Scott, Kirsty and Mhairi, his daughters Lesley and Gillian and his siblings Maureen and Sandy.
The funeral will be held at 2.30pm on 4th March 2016 at All Saints Church, Writtle followed by a short service at Chelmsford Crematorium South Chapel, Writtle Road and a reception at the Bridge Street Restaurant, Writtle. We would be delighted if you could join us.

The Royal British Legion was close to our Dad's heart. They helped us locate his grandfather, Robert Brown, who died in Ypres in 1917. We visited the grave together in May 2014.
