It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved Roland de Silva, who sadly passed away at the age of 80.

Roland was a truly special man, whose kindness, generosity and love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a heart of gold, a warm smile that could light up a room, and a wonderful way of making those around him feel loved, supported and protected.

A devoted husband to Janet, a loving father to Kirsty and a much-adored grandfather to Maya, Roland’s family meant everything to him. He was a constant source of love, strength and support, always putting the people he cared about first. He also leaves behind his beloved brothers, Errol and Craig, along with family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Roland found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Whether enjoying a round of golf, spending time fishing or relaxing while watching his favourite sports, he knew how to appreciate the things he loved.

But above all, it was his kind and generous nature that made him so special. He was always smiling, always willing to help and always there for the people he loved. His warmth, gentle spirit and caring heart will never be forgotten.

Although our hearts are broken by his loss, we feel incredibly blessed to have had him in our lives. The memories we shared, the laughter, the love and the countless little moments will stay with us forever.

Roland, you will be missed more than words can ever express. Thank you for the love you gave, the happiness you brought and the wonderful memories you leave behind.
