Doreen Gamblin (17 Feb 1949 - 6 Aug 2026)

In loving memory of Doreen Gamblin who sadly passed away on 6th August 2026

It is with the heaviest and most broken of hearts that we have to say that our beautiful mum passed away on Thursday 6th August 2026 💔

We still can’t believe we are writing those words. It doesn’t feel real. As a family, our world has fallen apart, and we don’t know how we are ever going to navigate life without you.

Mum was one of the strongest, most determined women you could ever know. She was born with polio and spent her life using crutches, but that never stopped her. In fact, nothing really stopped her.
Despite her disability She out manoeuvred three children — all under two years old and all in nappies! 😂 She never held back, and you always knew exactly where you stood with mum but underneath that strength was the biggest heart. She was funny, witty, loving, fiercely protective and beautiful inside and out unless you crossed her lol.

Your husband, we your children, your stepson, seven grandchildren and three beautiful new great-grandchildren, were so incredibly lucky to have you.
Forever our beautiful Mum, Wife, Nan, and Great-Nan and the head of our family. ❤️

Some of you may know that our Grandad trained greyhounds so mum grew up with them all around her and for this reason we have chosen the greyhound association for donations rather than flowers and we think she would love that.

For those that can come The funeral service will take place at Green Acres Epping Park on Thursday, 24th September 2026 at 12:00PM. Followed by a celebration at The New Boar, Abridge (formerly the Blue Boar)
