In loving memory of Sheila Lane who sadly passed away on 13th July 2026.
A life lived & built with her loving husband Eric which spanned over 5 decades. Being born in Lewisham, living her early adult life in Catford they both eventually moved together to New Eltham. Their first home together in Colyer Close grew with two children, a daughter Karen then four years later their son Stuart. A set of life long friends added to their life were made in Colyer Close. A time later moving into a new build in. Eastnor Road , finally settling in Footscray road which became the center to most birthday,Christmases celebrations, where family & friends gathered.
Sadly losing her beloved & friend Eric in 2021, she was supported by her family & friends close & from afar.
Sheila was a great friend & a true confident to many, known to all as the matriarch of our family. The glue that held us all together
Our Mum /Nan / Nannie Cousin ,our friend will be sorely missed.
Our hearts are truly broken
Mum you can walk with Dad now, he's got you .
Forever in our thoughts & hearts

One of the only numbers I could dial from memory and one I would dial frequently, whenever, whatever. And that “hello love” would always be there at the other end, unless I’d rung a bit too early (Early - the irony!) A quick catch up or a put-the-world-to-rights marathon, Sheil was there. Interested, insightful, caring and above all else, generous with her time.
She was a rock to my Mum Rita and then to me. I only hope she felt just how important she was to both of us.
Today, I’m rather jealous of heaven having all those fantastic souls. I do hope Sheil gives me her new number when it’s my turn.
