It was a pleasure to have know Tom for over 40 years, in Chess and during the Sunday mornings pitch and putt. He was a great servant to chess and was Chairman of Rainham Chess club for many years. During this period he also edited and produced monthly newsletters for the members for the club. In later years he still loved his online Chess.
You will be sadly missed.

Tom was a true polymath and very good company.
He was a fine Bridge player and it was my privilege to partner him for several years in the late 70s/early 80s.

It was an honour to have played both with Tom and against him across the chessboard. He was one of the finest players in the Medway Towns Rainham and played for many years. He had a dry sense of humour that and will be sadly missed by the many friends he made in the chess community notably at Rainham Chess Club.
