Paul Micklethwaite (11 Jul 1964 - 1 Jul 2026)

I was deeply sorry to hear of your passing. I’m sorry I couldn’t be around to support you and the family over the last year. So many happy memories.

Paul has been part of my world since I fell in love with his best friend Michael nearly 40 years ago. One of only three friends we invited to our wedding (yup, a beautiful but select event), soon Uncle Paul too Flo, Millie and Seth and, since Michael died, an enormous support to me. My last lovely (ie non-hospital) day with him was a long walk in Greenwich Park in late April, a whole day of stories and memories and laughs. Such a pleasure to have him as a friend, loved him as family. Miss you, Paul. Xx

Paul, you were such an easy and interesting person to talk to and so chilled out. I’m going to miss seeing you out the front of your house, doing your latest job, whenever I walked past. You have been taken far too early and far too quickly and you’ll be missed.

Cherished memories of Paul as a fellow parent and fun camping friend. It was always a pleasure being around Paul. He will remain a fun, dedicated, musical, hard working, family man in our hearts ♥️

The last time I saw Paul was at the Museum reunion bash. I'm not very good at keeping in touch but when Paul bounced into the pub and slapped me on the back with both hands shouting my name I couldn't have been more delighted to see his beaming smile. Just a really great bloke. My heart goes out to all the family.

After we knew Paul at The Museum of London we then became flatmates a few years later when he’d gone onto TV work. I admired his technical guitar playing which was the result of hours of practice and the enormous salads he used to make l, almost like a hamster, once a week. Paul had a very dry sense of humour . When he arrived at my 60th birthday he presented me with a pair of slippers which I will always treasure .

I met Paul on the very first day of my freelancing journey, and from that moment, I knew he was someone special. His professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail set a standard that inspired everyone around him. More importantly, he became a valued friend.

Paul had a quiet strength, a kind heart, and a warm smile that could brighten any conversation. He treated people with genuine respect and generosity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

His absence will be deeply felt, but the kindness, wisdom, and friendship he shared will continue to live on in our memories.

Rest in peace, Paul. You will never be forgotten.

Gone far too young and far too soon, Paul. You had such a gentle soul and a wonderful sense of humour. I'm so grateful that I knew you and that you were part of my journey in life. My thoughts are with your beautiful wife, your gorgeous son, and all of your family as they face this unimaginable loss. I hope they find the strength in the love that surrounds them and comfort in the countless memories you created together. You will be fondly remembered, and never forgotten. Thank you for the laughter, the kindness, and the friendship.

We met on a BBC project about 15 years ago when Paul was with Dega. As well as being a thoroughly lovely easy to get on with man we had a shared love of music and guitar playing. Paul was an excellent blues and ragtime finger picker. We moved away separately onto other projects and then met again for work about 5 years ago. He was a pleasure to work with, wonderful company as a friend and now gone way too early. Definitely one of the good guys.

My thoughts are with you Reiko and Noah and his family.

We loved your sense of humour, your calm and caring nature and your love of music. Many a fun time, spent camping, eating, drinking and just putting the world to rights.
