In loving memory of Father Kevin Bidgood who sadly passed away on 23rd May 2026
Fr Kevin was born and raised in Shanklin, IOW. After leaving school he worked as a cartographer at the Ordnance Survey for 17 years, before training at Chichester Theological College and becoming an Anglican Clergyman in 1981. He was ordained as a Catholic Priest in 1998 at St Edmund's Church, Southampton. He spent happy years at St Edmunds during his formation (attending Wonersh seminary and assisting as a lay person), and afterwards serving as an Assistant Priest.
Fr Kevin was then appointed as parish priest at Bordon and Grayshott (2001-2004), Waterlooville (2004-2017) where he served during the building of the 'new' church, and Ascot (2017-2024). After his retirement in Feb 2024 he moved back to Southampton and continued to serve as a 'supply' priest until March 2026 in many local parishes.
Fr Kevin has no surviving family but was a dear priest who was greatly loved by his parishioners and friends alike. We will miss him.

In Ever Loving Memory Of FR. Kevin Bidwell. I was in attendance a few times at Massses he celebrated at Philip Howard Church. I remember thinking how very warm and friendly he appeared to be.
