Martin,

I can only hope to be as kind and patient as you were with me. You had a huge influence on my outlook on life, even if I probably didn’t show it at the time.

I deeply regret not seeing you one last time, but I suppose that’s the cruel nature of life. We rarely know how good we have it until it’s slipped through our fingers. I doubt I’ll ever see a gin without thinking of you.

You were my boss, my mentor, and an office father figure for 10 years, and I cherish every moment. Thank you for always being there.

To a kind soul

Rest easy, Martin. Always such a kind and funny man. Thank you for giving me one of my very best friends.

My father introduced me to Martin in 2003, by way of recommendation as 'a good , smart man to hire'. Martin was more than that, we worked together on and off up to 2017 and during this time he would take on all the challenges and never cease to surprise me. I do not know anyone that did not get on with Martin, he had a charm and desire to assist whoever he could.

There are too many tales to share about a very generous and thoughtful soul. I joined Martin at his retirement gathering in the city, we were the last to leave together with plans to enjoy his new life on golf courses. You are a big loss to so many Martin. A great family man. I look forward to spending some time with your family on the 25th July albeit under the worst circumstance.
