I spent two years sitting opposite Arthur at London Transport learning from him and sharing his humour and fun. He was a good mentor and friend. Thank you Arthur.

I always had a very high regard of Arthur, and I have exchanged messages with David Knights who used to sit with with him in Seacoal House as part of the team dealing with the Future Power Supplies Project. Arthur and David were in the LUL part of the team, as was Henry Tomkins and others, whereas I and various others including Bob Osborne, John Morse, Julie Field and Mutu Rajah were in the in the HSPE part.
We all worked very well together, and Arthur always provided useful guidance and advice which I always appreciated,

I met Arthur at the same time that Robin did - so 40 years ago when we all worked on a Project for London Underground. I was only 20 at the time and Arthur took me under his wing. In later years I would see him when Robin visited from Australia and we would all get together and he never changed. I have wonderful memories of the Cheeky Funny and Kind man he was. He will be greatly missed.

Arthur was a lovely colleague I met at London Underground in the '80s where he was an engineer and I was a temp from Sydney. He was so much fun to work with and I typed his thesis (such dry stuff) as part of my employment. Moving on, Arthur and his late wife became great friends, they visited us in Sydney and we saw them regularly when we lived in or visited England. Even though our association was over 40 years, Arthur was a terrible correspondent, he would forget to keep in touch and many times Rosemary would have to urge him along and I'd receive some apologetic email from him. I guess he was a typical man. But he was kind, and convivial, loved music and golf and I followed his choir career with interest. Arthur was a one off cheeky Scot who will be missed.

We will remember Arthur for his sense of humour and fun, for his jokes and his irreverent videos during Covid. He remained constantly cheerful and even cracked a few jokes after having been given his diagnosis. He undoubtedly had some dark times but the memories of him will be happy ones. Lyn and Keith
