I met Robin through our roles as invigilators and we hit it off from the start. He was funny and mischievous and we soon had our own banter. Due to conversations we had he became “Posh Boy” and I became “Darnley Road Doff”! It was fun and a pleasure to work with you Robin and you will be missed. Rest in Peace Robin

Robin was a good friend. He was energetic in and about Upchurch Village, taking part in pantomimes and plays and he led the local scout troop for many years. He wws a good husband to Diane and a good father to Jonathan and Lucy. He was an honest, true gentleman!

Robin seemed to pop in and out of my life over the years since I was at school. Always ended up laughing and one of the kindest people I ever met. My Mum even used to call him Funny Robin" and we were all very fond of him. Such a sad loss for his family sending love to you x

Robin was a fun loving person with a cheeky smile and a great laugh. He was very articulate about current affairs and sought fairness/justice in the world. Bill and I quite often had a good chat over the garden fence.
I share Robin's love of Radio 4!
God bless you dear Robin.

God looked around his garden and he saw an empty space, he then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest. Gods garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.
You will leave a massive hole in our hearts and lives. You became a part of our family, the family of Scouts and I know many of them looked up to you. We have seen how you helped to influence the lives of many, and will continue to do so.
God bless you Robin.

I’ve known Robin for over 25 years through my friendship with Diane, and over those years he became such a familiar and valued part of so many memories.

I’ll always remember standing by the kitchen sink washing up while Robin chatted away beside me at parties, never short of conversation or a story. He was very much an honorary member of the Gillingham Ladies’ group because he never wanted to miss a gathering or the chance to be part of the fun.

In more recent years, we enjoyed meeting up as couples and spending weekends putting the world to rights, talking and laughing about all sorts of things — Robin could talk about almost anything and always made people feel entertained and included.

A funny, warm and memorable man who will be very much missed.

Sending love to Di Jono and Lucy x
