Like many people we have known Christine many, many years. Her and Dick were great friends of my parents, also. Such a lovely, kind, gentle lady, always had time to stop for a chat. We really miss her wandering into the anchorage, for a little catch up. We are so sorry Christine that you didn't get to start your new life in Suffolk. Rest in peace.

It has been an absolute pleasure knowing Christine. She was such a kind, gentle lady. Saying goodbye is hard, so we will say see you later. Marmalade cake will never taste the same but it will always bring back memories of a very special lady.

I have so many lovely memories of Chris. She was such a wonderful and kind person and I enjoyed our many walks and chats with Jobie and Iggy. When we were moving to the South West, Chris arranged a lovely send off in her beautiful garden with all our dog walking neighbours. She will always be remembered with love and kindness.

We met Christine in ‘The Field’ outside Orford, she in her delightful camper van and us in our caravan, not forgetting Jobie who our 2 Cairn terriers adored. This was about 2018, the beginning of a wonderful friendship and each year, dates would be arranged along with Ali and Graham, to meet and all be booked with Judith, the farm’s very welcoming owner and friend. It is a special field of such joy, peace, valuable friendship, all accompanied by much wildlife especially the tawny owls in the trees above us at night.
David and I feel so fortunate to have met her and Dick and so sad her wish to move to her lovely Suffolk never happened.
We heard a Cetti’s warbler with her in June last year. 2 days after she died, we heard and saw this allusive bird here in a nearby Norfolk fen. Thank you dear Christine for your joyous conviviality.

I met Christine in the late 70s when we worked together and although as individuals we seemed quite different as it turned out we had a lot in common and shared those interests over the years. She was a constant companion during the time our 2 boys were growing up and they loved her. Christine always had time to share. Our life is littered with plants, pottery and recipes all memories of the person I was proud to call my friend and whom we shall all miss greatly.

Christine was one of the very first friendly faces we met when we started walking our dog in The Strand after moving to Waterside Lane. She and her lovely dog Jobie made us feel welcome from the very beginning. She was such a warm, gentle soul — always smiling, always kind, and always ready with a friendly word. We will miss seeing her on our walks, but we will think of her often, especially when we pass her beautiful garden and home. She brought a little brightness to the neighbourhood, and she will be deeply missed. RIP Christine, love Sarah, Dave & Lexi
