In loving memory of Sandra Eileen Deeprose who sadly passed away on 1st April 2026 aged 77.
Sandra was born into the loving family of Albert and Winifred, she had 3 siblings, Norman and Anita both older and Wendy her younger sister.
Sandra was such a loving Mum & Nanny. A wonderful wife to Jim, Sister, Auntie, Carer, neighbour and Friend. She was so kind and caring, she always put others before herself, nothing was ever too much for her.
Sandra has always loved time with family and when her 3 children, Mandy, Claire & Jimmy were growing up she would take them for weekly visits to her parents house to meet up with cousins and have mince and potatoes.
Sandra was a homemaker and filled her home with love for not only her children but also many other children whom she looked after. Sandra was a childminder for most of her working life and the children she looked after become part of the family, taking them on lots of trips to the seaside, pantomime and even taking them on family holidays in the caravan for maybe a week at a time, although in the early days she took a couple of them away for the whole of the 6 weeks holiday!
Sandra also fostered two adults with Down syndrome. Terry and Keith become part of their family and lived with them for almost 14 years. Sandra cared for them at home even when they become poorly. Sandra also had her own mum, Win, come to live in the family home, and cared for her when she was unable to live by herself any longer.
Before their own children came along, Sandra and Jim would spend many holidays taking Sandra’s sister children, Sue, Maureen & Ray with them in their Bedford Dormobile making sure the children always had wonderful memories.
Sandra loved going to the theatre in London or locals theatres with her friend. She loved playing bingo and excelled at word games, often using her iPad to have multiple words games with different people on the go at the same time. A game of of Boggle was often enjoyed at the family home.
Sandra was a wonderful traditional cook and enjoy cooking for the family. She loved having her family around and always would go above and beyond. You just had to be careful not to say about liking something too much whether it was food or even presents, if you did, you would be sure to get plenty of what you liked… ask Russell & James about the surprise Christmas presents every year 🤣
Sandra never asked for many luxuries, but she loved having her hair done. For many years she went to the hairdressers every week for a wash and blow dry. How lucky was she when her daughter in law Kate joined the family bringing her hairdressing skills with her, what a joy it was for Sandra when Kate used her amazing skills to do her hair.
Sandra was organised and for many years organised a family weekend to Blackpool to see the lights. A coach load of family and friends off for an annual weekend making special memories. So many happy and funny memories!
As Sandra’s family grew she lovingly welcomed her 7 grandchildren, Lillie, Oliver, Jessie, Lewis, Harriet, Josie & Jimmy. She loved having them around. You could see her eyes light up when spending time with her grandchildren. Nothing was ever too much and would always go out of her way to give them little treats that maybe their parents wouldn’t.
She gave so much love and kindness.
