In loving memory David John Wardle, aged 71, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, 5th April, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Peckham on 25th March 1955, David was the beloved son of Flo and Jim Wardle and a much‑loved brother to Jimmy, Christine, Rose, Stephen and Cathy. He grew up in Peckham and attended St Thomas the Apostle School, where the roots of his lifelong friendships and strong values were formed.

David dedicated much of his working life to his trade as a pipe fitter and welder. He was deeply respected for his hard work, integrity, kindness and sense of humour. Beyond work, he found great enjoyment in golf and was happiest when spending time with his family.

A devoted husband to Carol, David was a loving and proud father to Kelly, Nikki and Danny, and a wonderful grandad to Maisie, Evie, Ronnie, Alice, Isabelle, Rosie, Samuel, Finley and Cillian, each of whom brought him immense joy.

David had many friends through work, golf, and his favourite place of all — the pub. He was known and loved by all who met him. He had a natural gift for making people laugh, telling stories, and fixing almost anything. One of his proudest achievements was building a summer house for his daughter — a lasting reminder of his skill, care and generosity.

David will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched.
