We have so many fond memories of John, one of our closest friends for over 45 years. We shared countless summers together in our back gardens, raising generous glasses of cider and enjoying the simple joy of each other’s company. Getting us to the airport on time at short notice! We brought our children up side by side, celebrating birthdays and milestones as one extended family.
John, you were gifted with practical skills that seemed endless. You helped and supported us in so many ways in business, in home maintenance, and in family life — always ready with a solution, at short notice, always happy to lend a hand. Your generosity, humour, and steady presence enriched our lives in ways we will never forget.
You will be deeply missed. May you rest in peace, dear John, until we meet again.
David and Vivien

Our early married life. I think John might have celebrated the Christmas season by the look in his eyes (or I’m too heavy).
