Ken Surman (Passed away 8 Mar 2026)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ken Surman on 8 March 2026 at Great Western Hospital. Ken was a true gentleman, known for his kindness, humour, and the pride he took in his family. He and his beloved wife Avril celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last November, a remarkable milestone that reflected their deep devotion.

Ken had a lifelong passion for sport, especially football. The family have been overwhelmed with lovely stories about him since his death, many of them centred on his quick wit and his love of the game. Known for his warmth and strong values, he treasured time with family and friends above all else.

A committed supporter of Help for Heroes, Ken was proud of the service of several family members, including three who served in Afghanistan at the same time. Donations in his memory may be made to this charity, reflecting his compassion and support for veterans and their families.

Ken will be deeply missed, and his legacy of love, humour, and his passion for football will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
