I will always remember Brian for when he and Auntie Janet visited my family when I was 11 (~1995). He spent loads of time with me, playing pool and darts, and especially chess. He gave me a lot of advice and encouraged me to improve. Our last game finished as a draw. Whether I earned it or not I'll never know, but he said I did (of course).
Later in life he helped enormously at my wedding (2017), as well as at my sister's wedding the following year. Brian was a kind, genuine and supportive man and I'm devastated to hear of his passing. Rest in peace, Uncle Brian.
