Russell Peter Gough was born on 16th October 1953, and lived a life centred around his family, who meant everything to him. He was a devoted dad, a proud grandad, and a much-loved brother, uncle, and friend, and he touched the lives of many with his kindness, humour, and warmth.
Russell worked hard throughout his life as a welder and fitter, spending many years at Britannia Limited and later at Lynx Engineering, where he took great pride in his work. He was known for his strong work ethic and for always doing his best, working hard to provide for his family and always putting them first.
He was a true family man, and nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his children and grandchildren, who he loved deeply and was so proud of. He loved spending time with them and was known to all of his grandchildren by the nickname “Fat Grandad,” a name that stuck over the years and always made him smile.
Russell loved his holidays and being outdoors, even if it was just a trip to the park with his grandchildren, making special memories in the simple moments that meant the most to him.
He was known for his great sense of humour and his easygoing nature. He enjoyed the simple things in life — a good chat, a cup of tea, time at the club or the pub, and being around the people he loved most. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and his presence always brought comfort and laughter.
He faced life’s challenges with strength and courage, including his illness, which he battled bravely without complaining, remaining strong for his family right to the end.
He will always be remembered for his love for his family, his humour, and the many happy memories he gave to everyone around him.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten
Family flowers only please. If desired, donations in loving memory of Russell for 'Cancer Research UK' or the 'Wisdom Hospice Charity' would be gratefully received, and can be made online via this page. Thank You.
