When Val last visited NYC in June of 2024 we went to see “Merrily We Roll Along” - she was an avid Sondheim fan. One of the feature songs is “Hey Old Friend,” and it became our salutation:
“Hey, old friends
How do we stay, old friends?
Who is to say, old friends?
How an old friendship survives?
One day chums having a laugh a minute
One day comes and they're part of your lives.”
I will miss her greatly
