George Tilley

East Rainton
formerly of Hetton-le-Hole, previously Easington Lane

Peacefully, with his family at his side, on February 19th aged 83 years. George. The beloved husband of Winnie, much-loved dad of George, Dawn and dear father-in-law of Christine and Grahame. The cherished grandad of Elizabeth, Christopher, Hannah and Sally and a friend to those who knew him well. Forever in our thoughts and hearts.

Family and friends please meet on Friday March 13th for a service in St Mary’s Church, West Rainton at 1:00pm, interment to follow in West Rainton Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu gratefully received for British Heart Foundation and Stroke Association. A donation box will be available in church. Please join the family in The Mill Inn, Houghton to continue the celebration of George’s life.

My deepest condolences to Winnie and the family , George is at peace now and out of all his suffering,he was our friend for 65years , George and Langton will be playing there guitar 🎸 up in heaven . love to you all xxx

So sorry to here this sad news , George was such a lovely man and a good friend and neighbour for many years ,sending all our love to Winnie & all the family , we have lots of fond memories of all the years we lived next door to each other . Thinking of you all at this sad time .
