I’m so very sad to hear of the death of Anna ‘Major’ as we called her (she called herself, to my children) - a wonderful, kind and wise neighbour from our days on Richmond Hill… Anna lived in the flat above us when we first knew her. She offered wise friendship and good humour to us as our little family grew, and became Godmother to our daughter, also Anna, back in early 1997. I’m very sad to say that I lost touch with Anna about twelve years ago, though I tried to find her with no luck. I do wish I’d managed to find her again. She was extraordinarily kind and patient, and always so elegant. I will always remember her with love and gratitude for her kind example. May you rest in peace, dear Anna.
