Just watched Sue's funeral service. Such a lov8ng, comprehensive tribute to her from you all. It would e impressive to someone who didn't know her, but having witnessed her beautiful personality, generous nature and hospitality for ourselves, it was a wonderful testimony to her true self. Your love for her was clearly evident and her love for you all was her essence. Bless you all as you mourn her loss. Love and hugs across the miles. Gill and your Aussie family

my dear Sue,

I want you to know that I’m thinking of you.
I think of you gently, like thinking of a light that never goes out.
I wish I could have been there with you, to express all the respect and admiration I have for you.
I hope you know that you’re not alone.
Everything you do, or have done —
for your loved ones or for strangers —
continues to keep their hearts alive and warm.
You’re a living example for young souls like me —
young souls who, despite everything, bear the pain with the love they have for you.
I’m really looking forward to seeing you again.
You are unforgettable.
I will try to become someone unforgettable too during my life.
God allows His weakest soldiers to fight the fiercest battles.
I guess you were one of them.
And you were so strong, so pure, that you melted God’s heart…
and He was eager to have you by His side.
I hope you have the ability to listen to us,
to hear us express our longing for your presence.
However, I respect this absence because I believe it is temporary.
The air will remain breathable and not oppressive.
It is already full of you.

Deep in my heart, I love you, Sue.
Your soul has always made me love you.
And all our memories, even if they are distant,
will continue to replay in my head again and again…
As if time had never touched them.

-Your little girl at heart from afar,

Mum Sue, thank you for welcoming me into your heart and family during my school exchange with Stéphanie. At 14, I was terrified to leave my family and my country, and you were so kind to me that I felt right at home. I still remember that day well, as well as all my visits with you, especially one when I came with my brother Sébastien and we talked until late into the night over a good bottle of French red wine. We laughed so much that evening...☺️
Then, throughout my adult life, I got to know you and I saw in you a wonderful woman, loving and kind to everyone...you were also present and loving with my daughter Ambre who loves you like her grandmother and you never forgot a birthday or Christmas or any other special occasion in our lives.
Thank you Mum, for all the happy and loving moments we shared. I realize how lucky I was to have met and loved you. Losing you is unacceptable to me because you are so precious, but I am relieved that you are no longer suffering. You fought with such courage and remained dignified until the very end. I know that many people will be there today to pay their final respects and tell you how much they loved and admired you. For my part, I say see you soon in the next life where our souls will reunite, I am certain of it... With all my love, your French daughter Isabelle
