Neil passed away peacefully on 29th January 2026 at Bassetlaw Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, with Bruce Springsteen playing quietly. He will be deeply missed by his wife Brenda, his children James and Genevieve, and by the many friends, colleagues, and students whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations in support of Bassetlaw Hospice and Weston Park Cancer Care. A collection box will be available at the crematorium. Alternatively, donations may be sent directly to WE Pinder & Son, 19 Thorne Road, Bawtry, DN10 6QL, 01302 710285.
