So very sorry to hear of Rogers passing. He was a great guy who helped me get started in computers and I'll always be grateful.
His name popped into my head today and I tried to look him up and "Concise Computers". I didn't expect this sad news. R.I.P. Roger. It was a pleasure to know you - and thanks.

Hi ...not sure but I think this is the Roger who was my friend way back in school days and Ian as well. The school was Croydon Tech on Pampisford Road South Croydon. Do I have this right?...if not my apologies for troubling you.

  • Hi George.. Pauline Roger's Ex wife says hello. Ian just text me back saying that is correct, you used to live in Heath Road, Thornton Heath and all went on holiday on the Broads in 1969. And you married a girl called Sue. He sends his regards.

Patricia Bush donated £30 in memory of Roger

I have known Roger for around 30 years, from when he first met my friend Penny. Sometimes he has been on the edges of my life, sending me humorous texts and e mails, giving mr advice about computers. Sometimes nearer the centre, most recently keeping me updated on Penny when she was ill and travelling with me to the various hospitals she was in. He was a man who walked his own path, contradictory and a little unconventional. He loved fixing things, he liked a bargain and would take great delight in securing a discount. At the same time he would be generous with both his money and his time, treating his staff to a takeaway (because it was Friday) or spending longer than he should on a repair for a friend. He could be infuriatingly opinionated, certain that he was right despite all the evidence to the contrary (sometimes I'm sure he did it on purpose) but his stubbornness and refusal to give up made him a steadfast friend. Roger was definitely someone you'd want in your corner.

Roger wrung the best out of his life and deserved more time. I' ll miss him.

  • Hello Pat, I am Stephen. I am very sorry to hear about Roger. I am sure that this is the same Roger that I knew as well. I am sure you will remember me if I am right. To give you some idea and to awaken some good times. Do you recall having a Chinese meal after an Apple show in 1985? Please leave me a message.
