In loving memory of Arthur Stephen Nichols who sadly passed away on 24th January 2026

Steve was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born in London on 1st May 1956, he later moved to Rhodesia as a child — a place that always felt like home. At 16, he joined the British South Africa Police, where he met Joanna. They married in 1977 and shared 51 happy years together.

After returning to England in 1987, Steve retrained as an aircraft engineer, a career that reflected his lifelong love of engineering and problem-solving.

A natural storyteller with a quick sense of humour, Steve was always ready with practical advice, a garage full of tools, and strong opinions — especially when it came to motorsport. Becoming a grandfather brought him immense pride and joy, and he leaves behind treasured memories for his family.

Steve lived with loyalty, integrity and warmth. Though gone too soon, his stories, laughter and love remain with us always.

Taken so suddenly. Steve will be, very much, missed. Always a great guy with a memorable laugh and jokes that you couldn't post onwards.
Rest peacefully, friend.
