Passed away peacefully at her home in Portchester on January 4th, 2026, aged 85 years. Born in Petersfield, and a resident of Portchester for over 40 years, Joyce was a distinguished nurse and educator in Guildford, Portsmouth and Chichester, who dedicated her career to the care of others. She will be remembered not only for her professional distinction but for her warmth, wisdom, and dedication. Joyce is sadly missed by family, friends, and all who knew her, but cherished in our hearts.
A funeral service will take place at St Mary’s Church, Portchester Castle, on Thursday, 12th February 2026 at 12:30 PM, followed by a private cremation at Portchester Crematorium.
Friends and former colleagues are warmly invited to join the family following the church service at The Cormorant Public House to share memories of Joyce.
No flowers by request. Donations, if desired, in Joyce’s memory to The Rowans Hospice may be sent c/o Waters and Sons Funeral Directors, Portchester.
