Surrounded by his loving family on January 14th aged 88 years. Mel, the beloved husband of the late Kathleen. The loving dad of Michael and Lyn and dear father-in-law to Sandra and Jeff. The devoted granda of Lynzie & Dan, Anthony & Cheryl, Aimee & David. Treasured great-granda for Giorgia & Matty, Alfie, Jai-Lyn, Isaak, Ashah, Kymarli, Nylah and Elijah. A cherished great-great-granda to Phoebe- Lena. A much loved brother to Tony and the late Derek, Brian and Marjorie. Also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and great friend to many. Loved and remembered always.

Friends please meet on Friday 20th February for a service in Durham Crematorium at 1pm. All are welcome to join the family after the service at Dubmire Workmens Club for refreshments and to continue the celebration of Mel’s life.
Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers are gratefully received in memory of Mel for St Benedict’s Hospice. A donation box will be available at the crematorium.

Mel was a great friend of my brothers Ernie and Bud when they were lads and he used to come to our house on a Sunday to play cards that’s when I first met him. He was a lovely guy. Last saw him at Herrington Colliery RIP Mel
