In loving memory of Marilyn Christina Bright who sadly passed away on 9th January 2026. Marilyn is survived by her husband Barry and sons Mark and Paul.

A beloved wife, mother, aunt, godmother, sister and friend, Marilyn will be much missed, however she will live on in those who knew her best, in Paul's love of cooking, in Mark's playful sarcasm, in many other things too numerous to name.

A wonderful person who lived for her family, Marilyn's attendance at football as part of Barry's work commitments will be long remembered, as will her use of headphones to listen to radio plays or Classic FM ignoring the match taking place in front of her. Mark will also be forever grateful for her, a decades-long vegetarian, cooking steak dripping in blood just how he likes it.

Marilyn was kind, generous, funny, always willing to help people and see the best in them and fiercely protective of those closest to her. A gap in the lives of those she leaves behind will be impossible to replace, but the memories they carry will be forever imprinted in those lives impacted by her.

No biography of Marilyn will be complete without making mention of her beloved pet dogs. Marilyn has had Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for the last several decades, culminating in Callie and Lara who miss her terribly. In lieu of flowers Marilyn's family request that those wishing to do so make donations to The Dogs Trust, as Marilyn did for many years.

Deborah Kemp donated £30 in memory of Marilyn

Very happy to support Marilyn's chosen charity. Wonderful memories for me especially of the little bundle of joy that was her first King Charles in the 1970s, the lovely Heidi. All of her dogs have been spoiled and much loved, something I'd wish for all rescue dogs.
