Uncle Steve, today we say goodbye one last time. You were an amazing man with such a kind heart. You will be truly missed.
Thank you for everything, including me when you didn’t need to, the many trips to Upton Park and the brilliant memories growing up. You will never know how much I cherish them.
Rest easy now, we love you.

Just wanted to send my sincere condolences to all the family for this huge loss. Steve was an amazing man, Father, husband and grandad. I had the privilege of knowing him for many years, firstly being part of his football team from the age of 17, and spending many holidays with him and the family in Malaga. He was just a great person who will be sadly missed.
I have got so much respect for this man, so much so that it will be an honour wearing a West Ham shirt when we celebrate his passing and the great legacy he has left behind.
I know you will always be looking over
the family, and will meet them again in the next life.
See you Gaffer.

Steve a true Gent , who we have been fortunate to have known for 50+ years .
We have shared many great times together.
And WOW could he drink !
A early memory was Xmas eve 1977 , when he said it was a good idea to extend our evening drinks . Resulting in him picking me up from the floor twice 🥴
I never forget Steve requiring make up after a foam party on a stag do in Spain , for Nic and Martin’s wedding a couple of days later .
We shared many great moments with him as a player and manager .
He was a big man , with an even bigger heart , who loved life, his family , friends, and West Ham .
He will be sadly missed
