On 21st December 2025, peacefully in hospital, aged 83 years. Ben, beloved husband of Jenny, much loved dad of Brian (Benny) and Joanne. Adored and proud Grandad, Great Grandad, uncle, and older brother of Michael. Funeral service will take place at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium on Tuesday 13th January 2026 at 1.15pm. Relatives and friends please accept this intimation. Ben was a proud retired and decorated detective and honoured to be the son of a WW2 Veteran, former colleagues, and servicemen, welcome to don medals to share in the pride. Everyone is welcome to come raise a glass in celebration of his life at Shaw Cross Rugby club following the service. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu may be made online or placed in the collection box provided for the family's chosen charity.

Ben was an active Scouter for many years in Mirfield and beyond.

His vibrant leadership skills enabled hundreds of young people to experience good fun Scouting and learn life long skills.

Oh happy memories of our halcyon Scouting days.
