Susie passed away peacefully after a short illness on 9 December 2025, aged 78.

She was the deeply loved mother of Angharad, Angus and Rhys, and grandmother to Cameron, Jonathan, Imogen, Bronwyn, Euan, Gregor and Cerys.

Born in Kirkcubright in 1947, the youngest of six siblings of John and Rita Baird, she moved to London where she qualified as a nurse at University College Hospital. It was in London that she met husband Roger and then as the family grew they lived in many different places around England and Wales before settling in Dorking in 1994. In recent times she put her training to good use working across a busy medical practice in Dorking and Box Hill.

The family would like to invite you to the funeral service at Clandon Wood and then a celebration of her life afterwards at Dorking cricket club. Please just register your attendance below.

I miss you susie, I miss our catch up on a monday working on your garden and the best cuppa in dorking. You were always a great listener and loved sharing family photos.

Susie was my friend at the academy. We stayed in touch over the years, despite my move to Canada in 1969. I used to love going to Kirkchrist.
