I must write our thanks to you all who have written here. There are so many beautiful words, I am quite overcome (again) at my wonderful father-in-law's memory, and how very much we all miss him. I had the blessing of living beside him and lovely Marilyn for nearly 30 years- I am so grateful. I am also adding a note to say that at the church service, there was an additional £576.70 donated towards Parkinsons UK, and we decided to transfer that via here, so others could see the total raised towards those working to support and research Parkinsons Disease. We continue to give thanks for Richard's wonderful life, and what he meant and brought to so many of us, in so many different ways.

Funeral Director
In loving memory of Richard Pierce who passed away peacefully on 3rd December 2025 aged 84, after a long battle with Parkinson's with Dementia.
Born and raised into farming along with his father Fred and brother William, he cultivated not only crops but a wide range of interests, skills and friendships through Young Farmers, Rotary, the NFU and of course steam preservation, a topic that would feature strongly throughout his life. It was Young Farmers that would provide the introduction to our mum, Marilyn and a lifelong marriage.
It is clear that throughout his life he influenced people and situations positively with his energy, enthusiasm, pragmatism, helpful demeanour and mentoring spirit, and it has been a pleasure to connect with so many people in the past days who benefitted from those qualities.
He will be sorely missed by us his family, friends and associates, and may he now rest in the arms of his heavenly Father, in whose love and promises Dad had complete and enduring faith.
Farewell, Dad, until we meet again.
Mum has requested no flowers, but for any donations in his name please see the link on this page for Parkinson's UK.
