In loving memory of Yolanda Wallis, who sadly passed away on 13th November 2025

I first met Landa on January 7th, 2010, in Luxor, Egypt. She immediately embraced this new way of life, taking its culture and history in her stride. We traveled all over Egypt with my family, visiting Cairo, Dendera, Abydos, and Aswan, to name but a few of the historic sites we explored together.

After around three years, we decided to leave Egypt and move to Alicante, Spain. Once again, we settled into this new home and way of life with ease, enjoying almost two years of bliss together. Every year, Alicante hosts a week-long Moors and Christians festival that took our breath away. Landa especially loved the costumes worn by the locals taking part in this festival, particularly the dragon costumes of the Christian knights.

After 18 months in Spain, we traveled back to the UK in October 2014. A month later, we sealed our love for each other by marrying on November 26th, 2014.

Landa was, and will always be, the love, light, and happiness in my life. She was the kind of person that friends and family adored. I often told her she was my social butterfly, who loved entertaining friends and family at dinners and games nights. Her passion for cooking and trying out new recipes was something she truly enjoyed.

Through my hobby of recording the wildlife at night around our property, Landa and I spent many hours watching recordings of our local foxes and badgers interacting with each other. She became so familiar with them that she could identify individuals within the fox and badger families.

I met Landa when we moved to Mapperley two years ago, and she quickly became the most thoughtful and kind-hearted neighbour we could have asked for. Every conversation with her was filled with love, laughter and good energy. She truly was the life of the party, and we will miss her dearly. May you rest in eternal peace, Landa.

A friendship of a lifetime we shared ups and downs celebrated many things but nothing comes close to the love we shared with each other. Landa you are missed everyday and I know I will see you up there in the future and as always it will be as though we have never been apart. You will always be in my heart. 💕
