I got to know Baz over 20 years ago when we started doing canopy formations (aka CRW) at Langar. He became an integral part of our 8-way team as we learnt and developed our skills together. We had many memorable times with him, not only at Langar but also winning national championships and an unforgettable training camp in Russia. It was always a pleasure to see Baz when he arrived on his bike from Harby, he always had a smile on his face and a good word to say. Even after the original team disbanded we always enjoyed catching up with him when he was around the airfield or jumping with his friend Stan. Also memorable was his skill as an artist and cartoonist, his humorous pictures brightened up the walls at Langar for many years, affectionately commemorating the Hicklings, our team and many other characters and activities around the airfield.

My heart goes out to Mel and his family for their loss, he was a wonderful man and I feel privileged to have known him through many shared adventures as a teammate and friend.

Martin

So sad to hear that Baz has passed away. So many good memories of doing canopy formation jumps at Langar, in Spain and our 8-way team trip to Russia. It was great to have Baz on the team winning two national gold medals and building our 16 way diamond over Langar.

Condolences to Mel and family. Sorry I cannot attend the funeral due to being out of the country.

Farewell Baz.
