Thorna Patricia June Mears
Passed away peacefully at Mountbatten Hampshire on 2nd November 2025.

An incredible wife, mother, nan, and great-gran, Thorna will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. No words can truly express the hole she leaves in our lives.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mountbatten Hospice Hampshire for the precious time they gave us together and for the outstanding care and compassion shown to Thorna in her final days.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Thorna to Mountbatten Hospice Hampshire would be greatly appreciated.

RIP Thorna. I have many good memories from when I was younger that I will cherish with yatzee, darts and messing about with Ryan and Mark. Not to mention those lollies you brought back from Blackpool and the stick a rock! There's a better place in heaven for you now.

Nanny and Great-Nanny the little lady from Guernsey with the biggest heart. 💗

Always there with a hug and a kiss, even when she couldn’t quite place who we were, poor Shane was often the plumber.

Grandparents are so special, and what a gift it was to have someone as precious as you in our lives. Little Richie being born on your birthday is an extra little bond we’ll treasure forever. 🥰

Your cheeky and mischief personality will never be forgotten. You brought so much joy and light to everyone lucky enough to love you, and I’m grateful to have been even a small part of your world.

Thank you for being the beginning of so many wonderful people in my life—a constant source of strength, love, and comfort to all who called you Mum, Nan, and Great Nanny.

Lots of love, my babe. Have a good rest, sleeping beauty, and look after Lacey for us. xxx

Sleep peacefully Auntie Thorna. We may not have seen you for many a year but I thought of you and Uncle Dickie often. I often recall the times you took me out with your family when staying at Nan and Grandads. You’ll be sadly missed but never forgotten. Love Denise, Brian and family xxxxxx
