In loving memory of Helga Wilhelmine Donlan who sadly passed away on 19th October 2025.
Helga, my mum was one of a kind. A strong woman who never feared to speak her mind. She came from humble beginnings in Germany and was one of 5 children. War years in Germany away from the rumblings of action were something she talked about. She loved living in the the little village of Quakenbruk and all that life offered her.
She met and married her first husband and came to the UK and went on to have my sister Evelyn, who has sadly passed.
On the day she left the divorce court she met my Dad Harry and rest is a love story.
Mum worked in Budgens, Waitrose and finally as a Home help which she loved .
Dad became ill and she looked after him till he passed.
Mum had a few good friends but all now gone. She was a fairly private woman, and found expression of love difficult at times,but she did love all of her family.

Helga, you were one of a kind and we loved you very much. We were always very kind to us, especially our little grandson, Flynn. We always enjoyed having you over for birthday bbq's in the summer. We love you and miss you. Rest in Peace 🙏 xx

Helga was a lovely lady and became a good friend to me the past few years . I will miss and her stories of her life growing up in Germany . She always told me what she thought and gave good advice . I will always have fond memories of such a dear lady . Xx

I’ve only known Helga for the past few years but she became a good friend to me . I loved hearing her stories from the war and about her German village where she lived and was bombed out twice . She was a lovely lady , full of life and character and always told me what she thought and gave me honest advice . I will treasure happy memories of a dear lady always . Xxx
