In loving memory of Valerie Joan Edwards who sadly passed away on 28th September 2025

Valerie was born on the 13th of July 1942 in Rochford Hospital. She lived and went to school in Southend-on-Sea. She studied to be a nurse, and her first nursing job was at St James Hosptial in Balham London. She became a Sister at the age of 21 working in Victoria Hospital Southend. Valerie married Brian in 1964, together they had three children - Kay, Jackie and Michael. The Edwards family moved from Southend to Benfleet in 1972. Valerie became a Midwife, then a community Midwifery Sister , delivering many babies (including her own Grandchildren) up to her retirement. Brian and Valerie went on many adventures together, firstly when their children were young. They explored England, Scotland and Wales, then with their caravan they travelled Europe too! They toured USA and Canada and many places around the world. Valerie and Brian went on to have Six grandchildren - Danielle, Nicole, Ashleigh, Kimberley, Aaron & Alice and two great grandchildren Brooklyn and Isabella.

Please note, Valerie would be happy for you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in for the Funeral, you do not have to wear Black! Family flowers only, if you would like to denote - please see our chosen charity.

We have very fond memories of Valerie growing up in our teens. We would spend many a time around Brian and Valerie house as our best friend was Mike. She was a very caring women with a fantastic sense of humour - Valerie, Brian and the rest of the family would always make us feel welcome! We will always cherish those moments.

Love to all the family, we are thinking of you all!
