In loving memory of Ian Philip Skokluk who sadly passed away on 19th September 2025.

My lovely husband Ian, a very special man who was a very caring, loving person who didn't like any fuss. He was also very organised and extremely patient.
Ian worked at the Electricity board most of his working life where he made many friends in the accounts and computer departments. This is also where he met his wife Yvonne.
He enjoyed walks with friends around Derbyshire with a stop off for lunch at the pub and the occasional real ale pint. Ian also managed to travel to Ukraine a few times with Yvonne to visit his fathers family who he was extremely proud of.
Ian was a Manchester United fan and his hero was Dennis Law who I hope he will meet sometime.

While ian isn't here in person he will always be here in spirit, living on in the memories of everyone who knew him, my favourite memories with Ian were during our annual boxing day celebrations where we would sometimes eat on the ironing board at the end of the table or between two tables that were different hights and also how excited he'd get to play games like kaplunk or jenga.
We will miss you, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.

We were so sad to hear of Ian's passing. From the day I met Ian & Yvonne, I knew they were soul mates. Such a wonderful uncle to my grandchildren, they couldn't have wished to have a better person and role model in their lives. The loss to you Yvonne must be immeasurable. Keep strong, with lots of blessings to give you strength.

Ian, so sad to hear you have left us. So many happy memories. Our first Rod Stewart concert, Leicester 1974, early start at the station, whisky at 7am (I don't even like whisky). Roxy Music 1980 at Wembley. So many laughs working together Bilborough to Coppice Road. We always joked about Dixie Toot, Rod 1974 and to paraphrase: "And when the the man upstairs he calls me, he'll say it's your turn to come ..... and when the angels sing I will join in, lets have a good time". And we so did. Thinking of you Yvonne and sorry we can't be there Monday.

Really sad news about Ian, we first met at Beechdale School and were in the same class and mates till we left Glaisdale Secondary many years later. Spent many happy hours at 49, Elstree Drive, I remember the big sideboard in the lounge with all the toys and games in, great times and his lovely mum Doreen was always welcoming. Had some great laughs over the years and all the lads remember the great holiday we had in Torquay, unfortunately Ian and I lost touch in our mid 20's, Jim, Bill and I often reminiscence over a pint about the many adventures we had together.

Very sad to hear this news about Ian. Ian was a good friend, we both lived on Elstree Drive and were friends from Glenbrook Infants School untill we lost touch in our mid 20's. I remember his farther 'Big John', who died when Ian was young, he used to take my dad for a pint at the Ukrianian Club. So glad Ian managed to visit his family in Ukrain.

  • What lovely comments Yvonne - we sadly only met Ian a couple of times but it was a privilege to say we knew him. You were obviously soulmates, Yvonne and your dedication to each other showed even more over the last few years. So sorry we will not be able to join you tomorrow. Our special thoughts are being sent to you on angels wings. Lots of love Sue, Jane and families xx
