In loving memory of Michael Dennis Field who sadly passed away on 20th September 2025 aged 70, loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin and friend.
Mike was a well-known local figure in Hamble and Hedge End who married Sue in 1981 and was blessed with 2 children; Robbie and Jenny, born in 1988 and 1991 respectively, and had 3 grandchildren Olivia, George and Henry.
His passion in life was sailing particularly in Merlin Rockets and was a member of Hamble River Sailing Club for many years. He also had a keen interest in cars.
A civil engineer by training he was originally employed by the Hampshire County Council Road Construction Unit which was subsequently outsourced and as a result he was involved in the planning of some large road construction projects in Hampshire and Surrey.
Mike had an endearing personality that made him many friends from all walks of life. If you knew Mike, anyone you met would always ask after him.
He had recently fought a successful battle with prostate cancer and received the all clear a few weeks before his death.
He lived life on his own terms right up to the final day which sadly came too early.

To a brother-in-law who taught me the importance of real music, a swift beer (or three) and rubbing down between coats. "Gone but not forgotten" my friend.
