Nana, how do I put 40 years of memories into a few words?

I have so many happy memories of time spent together. Trips down the street to fetch the flour and yeast for bread baking; trips on the bus to Mansfield; homemade yogurt lollies in the summer; a feast always ready on arrival, no matter whether we’d eaten or not. You shared your love for your family through feeding them - a legacy I have carried on!

My favourite Christmas song is still Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song and every time I play it, I see you stood by the wireless, singing along.

You will be very sadly missed. With all our love, Rachel, George and your much-loved great-grandchildren, Ottilie and Jude xxx

My dear Nana, you’ll be so deeply missed.

Your smile, your laugh, your love for music, baking, and family filled every room. You taught me how to bake, and you’re the reason I sing! I still remember you singing Alice Blue Gown to me before bed when I was little.

I can still smell the cooking from your house, and I’ll never forget how you first introduced me to smoked salmon at Christmas. I loved our little bus trips to Nottingham and staying at your house for the night!

You had such joy for life and so much love for the people around you, especially your grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored you.

Reunited with Gramps.

Keeping singing up in heaven.

Love always,

Katy x

Lovely Aunty Marj, my second "mum" whilst growing up. The door was always open and a welcome smile was the greeting. Childhood memories abound of shared Christmas festivities, birthday celebrations with party games, music and singalongs, with plenty of home baking. Picnic trips to Clumber park equipped with bats and balls for more games, fun and laughter. Happy memories remembering a lovely Aunty. Rest in peace

My lovely Mum,
Our hearts 💕 always together.
Our lives shared forever.
Our bond of love, laughter and joy, never broken.
Smile in heaven,as you did on earth.
We lost an angel,so kind,so true.
My heart is broken losing you.
Mum,you guided me through the toughest times and we shared the finest memories and precious times together.
Every journey is with you Mum.
So much to say, that words can never convey.
Thankyou Mum,for making my life so complete and eternal, love and gratitude i feel for you.
The simple things, were the best and heaven will hear your voice, smell your cooking and feel your joy.
Reunited with Dad and all you love.
