You were such an inspiration Richard - both working with you and your amazing positivity through your illness. In theatre, you were wonderful with the kids, putting them at ease with your kindness and your sense of fun, ( I see I’m not the only one who will remember your balloon animals).
The world just seems so unfair, you have gone far too soon and will be missed by so many. My thoughts are with Clare and all the family, who are being so strong at such an unbelievably difficult time. ❤️

Rich, what a pleasure to work with you. You put children and their families at ease and delighted them with your balloon creations. You encouraged me to push the boundaries for surgery in Somerset and your ‘can do’ attitude and skill really benefited my early consultant years in a way that I will be eternally grateful. Thank you.

Still remember the look of disappointment when a child realized not all anaesthetists could make a masterpiece from a few balloons like you! You came and made this for him when he woke up after surgery! Thank you for being awesome mate!
Rich, you were such a kind, funny and talented person. You were an incredibly talented doctor and a wonderful colleague. I will always miss those end of the day chats in the office. You were so generous with your time, advice and knowledge.
