In loving memory of Roy Taylor who sadly passed away on 6th September 2025 after a long illness, at his home in Louth and formerly of Taylor’s Grocers, Tickhill aged 88 years. The dearly loved husband of Celia, dear dad of Christopher and Sally and father-in-law of Julie and Alain, also, the much-loved grandad of Chloe, Joanne, Louisa, Sarah and Melissa and great grandad of Oscar, Emilia, Austin, Morgan and Alfred.

So sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of Roy. I met Roy and Celia when they invited me to install AC / Heating into their Lodge at Kenwick Park. A lovely couple that I now call friends. Something about Roy really held a place within my heart. Roy was always friendly and inviting. I found myself popping in whenever I was passing. Never really having time to do so with work commitments. I always made time to stop and say hello. That’s the sort of customer I had in Roy. A great guy whom I will miss a lot. My thoughts are with Celia, Chris (and Sally, whom I have never met but Roy told me a lot about) along with the rest of the Taylor family.

I was very sorry to hear of Roy’s passing, I will always remember him for his kind,
friendly and courteous nature when I was in his company.
It must be a terrible loss for Celia and the family, may I offer you all my deepest sympathy at this difficult time.

The heart of the village. From your grandad to you. Your family and especially your father brought warmth and community to the core of the town. Seeing your father’s face was always a comfort particularly after I lost my parents and I never turned down a cuddle. I hope the funeral goes well. I will make sure I pay him my respects and think of him always x
