Kathleen Teresa Doherty (nee McHale) was born in Muing, Belmullet, County Mayo on 28th March 1942 and sadly passed away at Hall Park Care Home in Bulwell, Nottingham on Friday 8th August 2025, aged 83 years. Kathleen is now reunited with her beloved husband, Anthony Doherty, who was formerly from Belmullet Town, County Mayo and later resided in New Basford, Nottingham before his passing in March 1999.

Kathleen demonstrated great strength and tenacity right till the end and is the last of the McHale siblings to pass. Kathleen leaves behind her heartbroken children Sheila, Rita, Kathleen, Anthony and Josephine and their respective partners. She also leaves behind her dear grandchildren Dominic, Joseph, Marie, Rachel, Lauren, Kate and Toni, as well as her twelve beautiful great-grandchildren.

Kathleen was the life and soul of any party and she never lost her wit or great sense of humour. She was a larger than life character who enjoyed a good drink, dance and sing song. Kathleen was well-loved by everyone she came into contact with and she has left a huge void in our lives. May she rest in peace.

If you would like to pay your respects, Kathleen will be at the Chapel of Rest at A.W. Lymn, Bulwell, Nottingham NG6 8ET on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd September 10.00am - 4.30pm and Thursday 4th September 10.00am - 1.00pm. Please contact Lymn's on 0115 9794944 to arrange a suitable time.

Kathleen will be received into Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Brooklyn Road, Bulwell on Thursday 4th September at 5.00pm, and her Requiem Mass will take place the following morning, Friday 5th September at 11.30am. Kathleen will then finally be laid to rest with her husband, Anthony, at Northern Cemetery, Hempshill Lane, Bulwell at 1.00pm. If it is your wish to send flowers, then please do so.

The family warmly invite you to join them afterwards at Greyfriars Social Club, Gordon Road, Thorneywood to share your fond memories of Kathleen while having a bite to eat and raising a glass or two.
