We are very sad to say that Barbara Lay passed away on the 6th August 2025. She was much loved by her friends and family.
She spent her latter years surrounded by close family and friends, including her two granddaughters who were much a source of entertainment and love (and no small amount of cheekiness).
Barbara will be remembered fondly for many things, not least of all, as a loving mother and grandmother (Oma), her loyalty and kindness to her friends, her playful sense of humour and her amazing singing voice.
To match her nature, we would appreciate if you could wear a touch of pink on the day in remembrance.
If you are considering flowers, we would ask that you make a donation to Fair Havens instead. They did an amazing job for Barbara, and she was very fond of them.

So incredibly sorry to hear about Barbara. I only knew her for a short time but the time that I did spend with Barbara, she filled the room with love, comedy and wonderful stories of her life. May she rest in heaven now x

I knew Barbara for about 35 years. We met when she was living in Harewood Avenue. We always had good times together and lots of fun. We both liked shopping for clothes and having lunch in a tearoom. I will always remember Barbara for her generosity and kindness.
