In Loving Memory of Valerie Mortimer (Val)

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Valerie Mortimer (Val), who left us on Thursday 17th July, surrounded by her loving family.

A dearly loved Mum to Helen, Claire and Amelia, a much loved Sister to Julia, cherished Nan to Leigh, Louise, Annabelle, Harry, Harvey and their partners, and beloved Great Knit Nanny to George. Val was a true Potterne Lamb—born in Duck Street and spending all of her 78 years in the village she proudly called home.

Val was our rock. The heart of the family. The mascot of Potterne Football. Our neighbourhood watch, and a true Potterne legend.

We as a family are heartbroken. Val will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her infectious laugh, razor-sharp wit, and incredible sense of humour brought light to every room and a smile to every face.

A funeral service to celebrate Val’s life will be held at:
Potterne Church, Rookes Lane
Friday 15th August at 11:00am

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:
Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary and Kelly's Animal Therapy http://www.kellysanimaltherapy.co.uk/
