Ruth Cocks (22 Jul 1943 - 6 Jul 2025)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Ruth Cocks who sadly passed away on 6th July 2025
Mum had shown amazing strength to recover from a previous 3 strokes before a significant bleed sadly took her from us all.
A fiercely independent and at times stubborn lady who loved being on the move, out and about walking around Dover or catching a bus to neighbouring towns even at the young age of 81 she believed there wasn’t much she couldn’t do - and she was right!!!
Working as a chaperone on a special needs bus for well over 30 years, mum devoted so much of her time to look after afters. Since mums passing, we have received many messages from parents whose children Mum had taken care of at some points over those years, it’s clear how much love and affection people felt for Mum. I truely believe she didn’t realise how highly regarded everyone held her, such was her humble opinion of herself.
We have chosen Mencap as the charity to donate too as Mum loved the times shared there with Tracy at their many social events and discos. They were a charity close to her heart and play a big part in the families memories of good times together.
Leaving behind her three kids and two grandsons, who she utterly devoted on and who loved her playful, fun, childish and at times naughty behaviour.
I don’t think Mum would ever be able to comprehend how much she is going to be missed by eveyone who loved her or even were lucky enough to cross paths with her.
They have without doubt gained a special Angel in heaven ❤️
The funeral is to be held at Barham crematorium Bridge near Canterbury CT4 6 QU on August 1st 1300
With a Celebration of Mums life at The Black Robin Covet Lane Kingston CT4 6HS
Please dress comfortably, Mums favourite colour was green so please don’t be afraid to wear colours as this is something Mum would have wanted ❤️
