Richard Thomas "Dick" Edwards (20 Nov 1942 - 16 Jun 2025)

I remember Dick very well, him and my dad (Ces Smyth) played for Torquay united together. Very sad to hear. Lovely man R.I.P

Amazing man, amazing life. Although I didn’t know him until his later years, his stories were the best and he told them in such an engaging way. Full of charm, fantastic sense of humour, bundles of charisma, thoughtful, a true gentleman in every regard and one that will be missed by many, many people. He always had that great twinkle in his eye. I loved that about him. I will never forget him. Legend of a man, simple as that.

Sorry for your loss. I will not be able to come to the funeral as I am away on holiday. Dick was a great bloke. I will miss chatting to him. Even though I don’t like football Dick always made it interesting when he was telling me about his past experiences. He was a really thoughtful and kind man. I think he will be missed by a lot of people.
